Gerry Richardson, MSW

Gerry Richardson is a social services program administrator with over twenty-five years of experience in the development and implementation of programs geared toward assisting individuals reach and maintain self-actualization.  Gerry holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Morris Brown College, a Master of Social Work degree from Clark Atlanta University, and a certificate in theology from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC).  His substantive experiences include business and management experience in principles/ethics, strategic planning, resource allocation of federal grant dollars, human services modeling, and leadership techniques.  He has served as the Program Manager of Fulton County’s Office of Emergency and Transitional Housing’s Jefferson Place, as well as the Program Director of CaringWorks’ Hope House.  In both roles he managed day to day operations, along with facility and clinical oversight of both the Jefferson Place and Hope House Residential Treatment and Transitional Housing Programs (respectively).  These programs provided substance abuse/mental health services, workforce development, and transitional housing, to formerly homeless men.  He also managed various grants (city, state, and federal) which totaled over a million dollars annually that ensured the viable operation of both facilities and their various programs.

Gerry is also a licensed and ordained minister having served as a youth pastor, urban minister, and assistant pastor where he supported the senior pastor in the leadership and administrative roles of the Amazing Grace Christian Community Church.  He has also prepared and delivered numerous sermons that have provided inspiration, uplift, and healing.  

Gerry provides mentoring and coaching services to adult and young men by providing life skills, conflict resolution, and anger management.  He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys providing mentoring and therapeutic services in a natural setting.  He hopes to foster an appreciation for the outdoors in his clients; all while connecting their “healing” with the sanctity of the outdoors.
