What's In a Name?

Metamorphosis is the change in physical form, structure or substance; or a distinct alteration in appearance, character, or circumstances.  It is usually marked and can be the result of an abrupt developmental change.  Much like the metamorphosis of caterpillars to beautiful butterflies; so too is the transformational process of individuals who choose to engage in the counseling process.  The main premise behind Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is that psychological problems are attributed to unhelpful ways of thinking and unhelpful patterns of behavior.  The Good News is that people suffering from psychological problems can learn better ways of coping with them, thereby relieving their symptoms and becoming more effective in their lives.  Rooted in the Cognitive Behavioral theory, the founder of MentalMorphosis believes people can become transformed by the “renewing of their minds”.
